This album, named after the great work by Arvo Pärt, is a meditative homage to the composer, who celebrates his 90th birthday on September 11, 2025. On "Spiegel im Spiegel", music becomes a mirror: between composers, across centuries and in the listener.

The focus is on three works by Pärt - "Fratres", "Da pacem" and "Spiegel im Spiegel" - each of which embodies his characteristic language of silence and spiritual clarity. They are framed by pieces that reflect his sensibility: Olivier Messiaen's contemplative "Louanges", Johann Sebastian Bach's radiant viola da gamba sonata and Alfred Schnittke's thoughtful cello sonata.

Onute Grazinyte at the piano has already been successful with "Lamentate", another album with works by Pärt, which received a 5-star rating from BBC Music magazine, praise from Pizzicato as well as a Diapason d'or and Diapason d'or Arte. Arvo Pärt himself was also enthusiastic about it. The other musicians are Edward King (cello) and the Aidija Chamber Choir under the direction of Romualdas Grazinis.

This collection invites deep listening. From Bach's elegant counterpoint to Messiaen's timeless devotion, each work reflects a shared search for the eternal: a sonic meditation on peace, prayer and presence.
