For more than 15 years, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra has been traveling across Germany, from Freiburg to Berlin. While the journey today only takes a few hours, it was very different in the 18th century: what music could have accompanied travelers on these roads? In this live album, the FBO revives this musical journey and makes stops in Rastatt, Stuttgart and Eisenach. In addition to Telemann and Johann Sebastian Bach, listeners will discover magnificent works by Fischer and Kusser, who build a bridge to the French style; Pez, who looks to Italy; and Johann Ludwig Bach, the older cousin admired by Johann Sebastian.
