Philip Glass (geb. 1937)
Philip Glass, one of the most important representatives of minimal music, is one of the most most listened to contemporary composers. When the first volume of these etudes was written in 1994, he had long since conquered the stages, screens and turntables of the world with his operas and film scores. The second volume followed 20 years later. It is interesting that this synthesis of his musical work appeared in the smallest possible form after the successful large formats. The Glass typical - harmony, melody, repetition and rhythm - is unique and always recognizably the language of its creator.
