Born in Budapest, Reiner was without doubt one of the most important American musicians of the 20th century. We hear him here in studio recordings made between 1945 and 1954, with "his" two orchestras in Mozart interpretations which amaze us with their modernity of conception, virtuosity and slim presentation that renounces any romanticising overemotionality.
