Do Frank Zappa and John Cage really have any place on an album of classical piano music? To anyone who doubts this, the answer is a resounding "yes", especially if the pianist is Marc-André Hamelin, whose own piece Hexensabbat forms a rollicking conclusion to a musical program that - like the instruments in the case of Cage's prepared piano - radically turns Western traditions on their head instruments - radically turns Western traditions on their head.
