In Johann Sebastian Bach's sonatas for violin and obbligato harpsichord, the keyboard instrument enters into a genuine dialog with the violin through the concertante and contrapuntal composition. With these works, composed between 1718 and 1722, Bach redefined the baroque trio and marked a decisive development in 18th century chamber music. The ensemble Le Stagioni consists of the harpsichordist and fortepianist Paolo Zanzu, the violinist Liv Heym and the gambist Christophe Coin, who lend expression and depth to these sonatas on historical instruments or appropriate replicas.
