In 1950 the legendary cellist Pablo Casals established a chamber music festival in Prades in the South of France. Since then many of the greatest artists of the last 60 years have performed there. This re-packaged reissued 4CD set presents Casals himself alongside other musicians including Isaac Stern, Clara Haskil and Dame Myra Hess in recordings made during the early years of the festival of works by J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms.
