Vera Dulova was born to a noble and musical family in 1909. She graduated from the Moscow Conservatory and had an eventful concert career. In 1955 she played on a drifting ice flow to members of the polar expedition North Pole 4 and was awarded the title of Honourable Polar Explorer. She died in 2000.
