Kip Winger is a cross-genre composer with a long and successful career in rock music. His acclaimed ballet score "Conversations with Nijinsky" prompted conductor Giancarlo Guerrero to commission the two works on this album. "In the Language of Flowers" is a violin concerto that incorporates four meanings from the 'language of flowers' into the musical arc and thus tells a love storystory. "Symphony of the Returning Light" is in the tradition of autobiographical fantasies dating back to Berlioz. The symphony incorporates the use of Morse code rhythms and revolves around the theme of sin. These are world premiere recordings. Kip Winger played bass with Alice Cooper from 1985 to 1987, performed with Alan Parsons, Roger Daltrey and Bob Dylan and recorded albums with them that often reached platinum statusachieved platinum status. He has already been nominated for a Grammy as a classical composer. The works are conducted by six-time Grammy winner Giancarlo Guerrero, played by the 14-time Grammy-winning Nashville Symphony and produced by ten-time Grammy winner Tim Handley. German-born violinist Peter Otto is concertmaster of the Nashville Symphony and enjoys a dynamic career as a soloist, chamber musician and educator. Previously he wasfirst assistant concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra.
