The second installment of violinist Liya Petrova's "Momentum" diptych contains two pieces that have never been recorded together before: The young Richard Strauss of the fin-de-siècle is reflected with his last chamber music work in the Hollywood colors of the late Erich Wolfgang Korngold. The fleeting moment of this reflection is captured in this recording, in which Petrova and her partners, pianist Alexandre Kantorow and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under Duncan Ward, make the strings of two masterpieces vibrate with great sympathy.
