Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Symphonie-Orchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Mariss Jansons
For the first time in his Munich era, Mariss Jansons, highly regarded as an expert on Anton Bruckner's symphonies, conducted the great Mass No. 3 in F minor for solo voices, choir, organ and orchestra from 1867/68 at the end of January 2019. In a way, he spoke his last word with regard to the performance tradition of Romantic music: he died a few months later in December 2019.
Bruckner's symphonic mass offers the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Choir and the soloist quartet rewarding tasks that cover a spectrum from lyrical cantilena to the most magnificent jubilation.
