Alone in his workshop, the sculptor Pygmalion sculpts a statue of incomparable beauty with which he falls madly in love. He then asks L'Amour (Love) to bring his creation to life and, moved by his pure devotion, she fulfills his wish. With Pigmalion, Rameau created his most beautiful opera-ballet, in which marble becomes incarnate beauty and the passionate search for love is expressed. Antoine Bailleux's version offers a fresh and new interpretation of the myth. Camille Delaforge and the ensemble Il Caravaggio deliver a brilliant performance that reveals all the evocative power and refined elegance of Rameau's style.
