Within the framework of his recording project "Resound Beethoven" on ALPHA CLASSICS, conductor Martin Haselböck and his Ensemble Wiener Akademie did not only orientate themselves on the autographs; rather, the original instrumentation strengths including the historical orchestral line-up were also taken into consideration. Furthermore, for the first time, as far as still possible, recordings were made at the place of the first performance of the respective symphony. The interpretative and tonal results convinced critics and audiences alike, and this cycle can be considered one of the most exciting in recent recording history.
