"Child's Play" is a double album of chamber music by Australian composer Carl Vine, one of the most accessible and prolific composers of our time. Vine's output includes eight symphonies, thirteen concertante works, numerous chamber works and music for film, television, dance and theater. This album is the final recording by the Goldner String Quartet, whose members have chosen to celebrate the occasion in the company of friends, including their long-time collaborator Piers Lane. The title of the album comes from String Quartet No. 6: in the composer's own liner notes, Vine writes that he was commissioned to compose music that was "uplifting, uplifting and upbeat".
