While technology for the modification of sounds is often used in postproduction, pianist Ralf Schmid uses it in his project and Alter Ego PYANOOK for the conception of his pieces from the very beginning. For this he uses an innovation in music technology: MI-MU GLOVES.With them, he can immediately digitally manipulate the sound of what he plays on the piano by hand gestures, thus creating a world first. PYANOOK is an album between classical piano music and jazz, combined with technology from cyberpunk.It treads new musical, technological and compositional ground and offers a familiar retreat in its very own sound world.
