Talich Quartet (string quartet)
Fascinated by the folklore of his native Bohemia and gifted with inexhaustible melodic inventiveness, Antonín Dvořák went through several creative periods in which he gradually broke out of the classical mold; the last of these periods was greatly influenced by the years he spent in the United States. His friendliness and optimism distinguish him from the other great Romantics, who have a darker and more tortured character, and contribute to the unique charm and accessibility of his music that has earned him so much popularity.
