Following her acclaimed debut "Diaries", pianist Tiffany Poon returns with "Nature", an album that explores the evocative power of French music to capture the beauty of nature - from the delicate shimmer of water to the quiet mysteries of the forest and the animals that live in it.
"Nature", which Poon recorded with producer Damien Quintard at the legendary Provence recording studio Miraval Studios (Pink Floyd, Sade, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), brings together works by French composers spanning several centuries, all united by an instinctive admiration for the world around them. Guided by intuition and a deep personal connection, Poon's curated selection, including pieces by Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Jean-Philippe Rameau and Louis-Claude Daquin, transcends the structured rigor of the German-speaking world's musical tradition and leads into the fluid, sensual soundscapes of the French repertoire. Inspired by Rameau's conviction that music is rooted in nature itself, she curates a program that reflects her love of animals, forests and water and translates it into vibrant forms of musical expression. "Nature" is a testament to music's ability to reflect the natural world, inviting listeners to savor its beauty with instinct and devotion.
