Loredana Brigandi
Stefano Golinelli was an acclaimed virtuoso pianist who was alsoappreciated as a composer in his day. He played an important role inthe 19th-century Italian musical renaissance, but his name has fadedfrom view over time. The emotional power of Golinelli’s music is wellrepresented in his first two piano sonatas, the earliest of which, Op. 30,shows the influence of Schumann and Mendelssohn. The Op. 53 sonatafeatures a wealth of melodic ideas and musical surprises – its openingis an Italian homage to Chopin, and the work also contains a beautifulAndantino movement.A pianist with a great temperament and a sweeping musicality,Loredana Brigandì is a virtuoso who blends interpretative elegancewith an extraordinary technique, through which she braves the greatestdifficulties of the keyboard. She dedicated herself to the rediscovery, dissemination, and enhancement of the unexplored repertoire of thepast, and actively searching for compositions that would arouse herinterest not only from a musicological point of view but as an interpreter. Her discography includes the world première recording of works byIgnaz Moscheles and Friedrich Kuhlau, which received critical acclaimsfrom both Gramophone and the New York Times. Today her recordingsare broadcast worldwide.
