With over 125 concertos, Telemann is one of the pioneers of this genre, which originated in Italy. In them he mixes boldness, humor and emotion and delights in exploring the violin's enormous expressive potential: lyrical, virtuosic or humorously imitative. Isabelle Faust and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin present some gems from this unusually rich corpus, alongside other pieces in honor of the violin.
