Schuricht has always maintained close links with French orchestras. He was particularly appreciated in France for his Beethoven interpretations. Here he achieved an interesting synthesis of the traditional Romantic conducting style and the modern objective approach. The drama of Schuricht's performances resulted from the music itself, not from the way he conducted.
