The French flute school in the first half of the 20th century still contributes to the genre's particularly high status today. One of its influences was the development of a rich repertoire that incorporated a new style of performance. For his debut solo album, Jan Krzeszowiec chose works by Gabriel Fauré, Philippe Gaubert, Darius Milhaud and Pierre Sancan, bringing his own artistic perspective and personal voice to this tradition. He is accompanied on the piano by Tymoteusz Bies.
