Released on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of Tatiana Nikolayeva’s birth. If you have not heard Tatiana Nikolaeva play Bach, here is the opportunity to enjoy her deep, spiritualand humble rendering of the Partitas. Despite winning 1st prize at the Leipzig Bach competition in 1950, Nikolayeva’s artistry wasn’tproperly recognized outside of Russia for long time and she is still unknown to many. Her performance of the Partitas clearly demonstrates her unique talent, deep humility and infinitelove of music. “The basic purpose of music is to help people in their life. Music, unlike any other form of art, canhelp human beings to cope with the tragic losses in life, and bring happiness into their life.” (T. N.)
