At the age of 25, Michiaki Ueno, winner of the prestigious Concours international de Genève 2021, decided to record Johann Sebastian Bach's suites for solo cello. The young musician, who studied with Pieter Wispelwey at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf and with Gary Hoffman at the Belgian Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, among others, plays this "Holy Grail" of every cellist masterfully and thus already establishes himself as an artistic personality to be reckoned with from now on.
