In 1980 Hartmut Haenchen took over the artistic direction of the chamber orchestra "Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach", which performs on modern instruments on the basis of text-critical elaborations of old scores and with which he created these brilliant recordings. The recordings in this box were all made in the late 1980s or early 1990s

Concert tours have led and continue to lead the ensemble to all major music centers, and several of its more than 40 recordings have won international awards.
