The Halle-born organ builder Heinrich Andreas Contius (1708-1795) was highly esteemed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Unfortunately, none of his instruments have survived in their original state, but in 2012 an exact reconstruction of Contius' Liepaja organ as it was in 1779 was created. The project is unique, as none of his instruments have been so meticulously reconstructed to date. Bart Jacobs presents works by composers who have a direct connection with Bach and instruments built by Heinrich Andreas Contius.
