The Bolshoi Theatre Quartet gave their first performance in 1931 in the Beethoven Hall of the Bolshoi Theatre. They were a prize winning ensemble and were highly regarded in the USSR, but rarely went on tour due to their Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra commitments. This CD is part of the “Legends of the XX Century” series.
