SWITCH THE STREAM is about the urge for constant change. About the brain's addiction to the new. The 'Chris Maene Straight Strung Grand Piano' has a very specific sound (to the modern ear). The revival and combination of some important historical piano building techniques in a modern instrument is something that inspires me and encourages me to experiment.

After a very intense period of working with the pianoforte, I was able to enter a new phase of composition and improvisation. The cover of the album shows geese during their long flight from the polar region; they can stretch their legs on a newly built highway.

This is an image where the focus is on constant movement. Just as the musical direction is perceived, processed, developed, alienated, twisted and changed in the moment. It is a constant striving to capture the intangible. (Bram De Looze)
