Weill's songs for voice and piano form a rich and multi-faceted work - at once challenging and accessible, European and American, classical and popular - that epitomizes the tireless creativity of one of the most original musical voices of the 20th century. The Greek soprano Eleni Lydia Stamellou won the Ferruccio Tagliavini Competition in Austria, whose jury was chaired by Dame Joan Sutherland. She then attended master classes with Teresa Berganza, Edda Moser and Christa Ludwig. She has sung in opera productions with MusicAeterna under the direction of Teodor Currentzis. She specializes in Renaissance/Baroque and contemporary music. She has sung in productions by Berio and Hersant. Her excellent piano partner is Alexandra Listova.
