Michel Corrette (1707-1795) was a famous composer, teacher and organist, his long lifetime resulted in seeing the cultural change from the Baroque to the Classical era. This album contains suites of dances and character pieces in the French manner, following the model established by François Couperin and Jean-Philippe Rameau. Agustín Álvarez, a Venezuelan harpsichordist trained in Caracas and Madrid, performs Corrette’s works with stylistic elegance and technical mastery, continuing his acclaimed series of recordings for Brilliant Classics.
