Paul Ben-Haim (Frankenburger) {1897-1984} : the oratorio JORAM was his last composition before he escaped from Munich after the Nazi takeover in February, 1933. Composed to a quasi-biblical book by Rudolf Birchardt (1905), it is a monumental work in the great tradition of German romantic oratorio. Paul Ben- Haim became one of the greatest composers of Israeli music.
