Frank Peter Zimmermann is without doubt one of the most important violinists of his generation. In recent years in particular, he has caused a sensation with his outstanding recording of Mozart's violin concertos.
Now a live recording of a memorable concert is available on vinyl from the Staatskapelle Dresden edition of the Profil label. The great Bernard Haitink conducts Beethoven's Violin Concerto, with Frank Peter Zimmermann as the soloist.
The concerto, recorded in 2002 by the outstanding sound engineers at MDR, is regarded by Zimmermann fans as one of the most eloquent testimonies to the violin virtuoso's art.
