Violinist Théotime Langlois de Swarte and harpsichordist Justin Taylor, two of the most promising virtuosos of the new generation and founding members of the ensemble Le Consort, here present a duo album that pays tribute to the violinists and composers of the Francœur family, a great musical dynasty of the 18th century. Together they bring the violin sonatas of Louis Francœur (c. 1692-1745) and his brother François (1698-1787) back to life with great virtuosic energy and elegant grace, unearthing previously unknown treasures of the French Baroque.
