Erik Satie is a lighthouse around which musicians of all styles have circled to gaze for more than 100 years. American minimalists (Glass, Reich, Adams, Riley, La Monte Young) today recognize him as a kind of spiritual father. François Mardirossian bows to Satie with this recording - through his works, but also through those of his friends, his followers and his heirs. With his very subjective selection, the pianist wants to show how important Erik Satie was for some musicians, whom he groups under the term "gymnopaedists".
