RAÚL MIDÓN is regarded as one of the first great discoveries of 2006 - the New York Times was already calling him a virtuoso before he had even recorded his album "State Of Mind". Instead of using gigantic equipment, the charismatic singer, composer and guitarist relies above all on intensity and sensitivity: his serious, lyrical songwriting, soulful voice and guitar playing peppered with flamenco and jazz elements are often reminiscent of the greatness and seriousness of such legends as Donny Hathaway, Jose Feliciano and Richie Havens.

It is not least the infectious optimism that makes the songs of RAÚL MIDÓN, who has been blind since birth, so appealing - so much so that even Stevie Wonder couldn't help but join in with a harmonica guest appearance on "Expression Of Love". The album, produced by Arif and Joe Mardin, also impresses with its stringency and depth.
