HORACE SILVER's "Horace Scope" from 1960 is a sparkling musical jewel from the era of hard bop. Accompanied by Blue Mitchell (trumpet), Junior Cook (tenor saxophone), Gene Taylor (bass) and Roy Brooks (drums), the pianist and bandleader conjured up several new classics with "Strollin'", "Where You At?" and "Me And My Baby". At the same time, he also presented reworked versions of some older masterpieces as part of this powerful quintet recording with the title track, "Nica's Dream" and "Yeah".
