Hildegard von Bingen, one of the most important women of the Middle Ages, maintained a lively correspondence with numerous spiritual and secular dignitaries. The letters, which were long considered an untapped treasure, show her influence on important political and socio-critical issues of the 12th century, but also her deeply felt friendships. This program follows the correspondence and shows the special way in which the ensemble ALA AUREA dealt with Hildegard's music. Maria Jonas and Susanne Ansorg, supported by a few guests, interpret medieval songs and music with voice, fiddle, tambura, shrutibox and glockenspiel.
