The composer Thomas Adès, "one of the most accomplished and mature musicians of his generation" (New York Times) conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra in a program of his own works. "Luxury Suite from Powder Her Face", an adaptation of the opera, was premiered by the Berliner Philharmoniker in 2018. "Five Spells from The Tempest", an orchestral suite from Adès' 2003 opera based on Shakespeare's play, was premiered at the Dresden Festival in 2022. The "Inferno Suite", based on Dante's Divine Comedy, was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Royal Ballet and revolves around the protagonist's journey through the fires of hell.
