The debut album of cellist Elena Antongirolami and pianist Melissa Galosi focuses on Rossini’s output and heritage. The programme features a collection of works for cello and piano written by Rossini – who was a cellist himself – as well as by composers who, between the 19th and 20th century, adopted the Rossinian style. The album includes themes, variations and fantasias on Rossinian operatic themes and original rare chamber works some of which have never been recorded.
