"The Hunchback of Notre Dame", "Moulin Rouge" or "Wages of Fear" - Georges Auric provided the music for these and around 250 other cinematic masterpieces. His compositions are rarely heard in concert halls today. This makes the selection of songs and chansons that Holger Falk and Steffen Schleiermacher are now presenting in their "Groupe des Six" anthology series all the more commendable.
