Gustavo Gimeno and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra scale the peaks of two of Bartók's musical masterpieces: his dazzling Concerto for Orchestra and his infamous piece "The Miraculous Mandarin", presented here in its complete version. As a counterpart, there is the work by Canadian composer Emilie Cecilia LeBel, commissioned by the orchestra - a fascinating meditation on nature, its layers and the collective memory it harbors.
