Maria Milstein (violin), Nathalia Milstein (piano)
For the recording of Schubert's works for violin and piano, Maria and Nathalia Milstein were looking for a sound world that best suited their idea of this music. In the Andriessen piano collection in the Netherlands, they came across a Blüthner instrument from 1857 that was in exceptional condition. As the soundboard had never been renewed, it can be said that the sound is exactly the same as it was over 150 years ago. They fell so much in love with this grand piano that it is now an essential part of their very individual Schubert sound.
