What should a flutist do if he loves Ravel? Although Ravel gave the flute some of his most beautiful orchestral pieces, he wrote little for it as a solo instrument ... Unfortunately! Julien Beaudiment and Célia Oneto Bensaid answer this question by taking ten of the composer's greatest works from the repertoire. Daphnis et Chloé, the challenging Alborada del gracioso, La flûte enchantée or the Sonatine are thus adorned with the combined timbres of flute and piano - so much so that one might be tempted to think that these transcriptions could just as well have been the original versions ... A beautiful confirmation that the flute really is "the happy instrument of light and dreams" for Ravel.
