A special audio treat for lovers of the classical grand theatre play is offered by Capriccio with its new complete recording of Henrik Ibsen's drama "Peer Gynt" presenting Edvard Grieg's entire incidental music written for this play. Ibsen and Grieg collaborated closely on the creation of this work and thus, more so than other incidental music, this music was written as a uniform and integral whole. Grieg's music in known from his two Peer Gynt suites, but its beauty and succinctness can only be fully appreciated in the context of the drama itself. The present version of the text in German focuses on the three main characters Peer Gynt, Ase and Solveig, Spoken by Andreas Pietschmann, Nicole Heesters and Anneli Pfeffer. Peter Fröhlich is the narrator. Comes with Booklet containing articles, complete libretto and translations.
