Under Italian skies, the young Handel transformed states of mind into music and furnished Roman palaces with secular cantatas of glowing virtuosity. This theater of passions explores the thousand faces of love: from the torments of the dizzying Il delirio amoroso to the lightness of Sans y penser to the shackles of Un'alma innamorata and the lamentations of Crudel tiranno amor. The soprano Marie Lys lends her exquisite voice to the heroines of "dear Saxony". Under the direction of Gaétan Jarry, the Orchestre de l'Opéra Royal brings this baroque fervor back to life with the utmost elegance.
