Jodyline Gallavardin (piano)
The pianist Jodyline Gallavardin was accepted at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon at the age of 17. On her debut album, she presents herself as a poet on the piano, but one who is not easily pigeonholed. The selected works are mainly about nature and, with the exception of a Schubert song transcribed by Liszt, were almost all composed at the same time, between the mid-1910s and the early 1920s. The compositions are by Jean Sibelius and Henry Cowell, by Amy Beach and Maurice Ravel, by Enrique Granados and Déodat de Séverac.
