Four important works of the 20th century for string orchestraThe conductor Flavio Emilio Scogna, one of the most committed advocates of modernity in value-conservative Italy, has recorded four very different works for string orchestra with the Solisti Aquilani. They demonstrate the wide range of stylistic expression of the "small instrumentation": Bartók's "Divertimento", Rota's "Concerto for Strings", Hindemith's "Funeral Music for Viola and String Orchestra" and the rarely played concerto for violin and string orchestra "Il belprato" by Giorgio Federico Ghedini. The chamber ensemble from Abruzzo does not play without joy of playing, but also with great precision and homogeneity.
