With "Vieni, o Notte" - works exclusively by Alessandro Scarlatti - soprano Francesca Aspromonte presents her first album on Aparté. Together with Arsenale Sonoro and Boris Begelman, she explores three cantatas (also referred to here as serenades) in which the composer turns the night into a stage for the thwarted loves of his characters. He gives them arias and recitatives that are painful, contemplative or burning. "All'hor che stanco il sole", a musical meditation on love and loss, was recorded for the first time. Baroque specialist Aspromonte masterfully reveals the full sensuality of this music.
