Kirill Petrenko and the Berliner Philharmoniker: the beginning of a partnership
In June 2015, the Berliner Philharmoniker elected Kirill Petrenko as their new chief conductor; he took up the post in 2019. Now an exclusive edition presents key recordings from this phase of anticipation and new beginnings. Interpretations of works by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Franz Schmidt and Rudi Stephan reveal not only the first important program lines, but also the exciting, intensive music-making in this partnership.

The edition presents the recordings on four SACDs. The comprehensive 108-page booklet contains two detailed essays on the repertoire as well as introductions to the individual works and numerous photos and illustrations by the artist Rosemarie Trockel, who was instrumental in designing the edition.
