This wonderful 4-CD set of all of Schubert's symphonies includes recordings of Symphonies Nos. 1-4 by the Hanover Band, conducted by Roy Goodman. These are part of the much acclaimed cycle, which were recorded in the warm acoustic Saints "Church in Tooting" and as the first ever of Schubert's symphonies complete set on period instruments.

Symphonies No. 5-6 and No. 8-9 were recorded with Polish vitality by the Camerata Salzburg ensemble under the great Hungarian conductor and violinist Sándor Végh.
