The present release is the first book CD on the Mirare label. And it is also the solo debut of the French baritone with an English name, Edwin Crossley-Mercer.
In fact, it is a joint production of the singer with Yoan Hereau, his pianist, and the painter Claudine Franck, his mother. The central thread of the frightening story is the first-person narrator, who is never the same in these 24 songs by Wilhelm Müller and Franz Schubert.
